Bill Besley
The Besley Open is the vision of Bill Besley, a former state champion & Presbyterian College tennis player, coming to life. Bill’s dream was to put together a men’s doubles tournament with a cash prize on the line. Bill passed from cancer in 2018 at the age of 54, but his spirit lives on through this tournament.
The Besley Tennis Open is South Carolina’s premier men’s doubles tournament where players compete for prize money, making it one of the only events of its kind in the state. It’s a unique opportunity for up-and-coming talent to test their skills against professional and college players while playing for cash, and everyone can enter for free. In addition to high-level competition, the event offers a fun atmosphere with raffles, prizes, and swag, plus food and drinks, including alcohol, for purchase. Whether you’re on the court or in the crowd, the Besley Tennis Open is a great way to experience competitive tennis while enjoying a lively and welcoming environment.
